1. Membership is voluntary and there are
no membership fees. Only writers who are serious about their writing
and who have an interest in genre-fiction need apply.
2. Full membership is by invitation or application
and depends entirely upon the discretion of the Guild - following
attendance of a formal Guild meeting and consideration of the applicants’
writing.
3. Membership requires consistent monthly submission
of new writing and concomitant critiquing of other members' writing.
4. The members of the guild meet on a monthly basis, though attendance
is not compulsory, regular attendance is preferred.
5. M embership of the Guild is for adults, 18 years and older -
children 13 to 17 are welcome to join the mailing list and public
meetings, upon written agreement of their parents.
6. F rom time to time the group may engage in
other activities - these activities are not guaranteed benefits
of membership.
7. No member may communicate on behalf of, or
enter into any agreement on behalf of, . the Guild without the express
permission of the Guild as obtained at a formal meeting.
8. Common human decency and courtesy is expected
of all members at all times.
9. Full membership (i.e. inclusive of monthly
meetings) is restricted to 13 members; additional applications will
be considered and placed into a queue. Partial membership (i.e.
restricted to the mailing list) will for the time being not be restricted
in terms of numbers, but other restrictions can or might be applied
as the Guild sees fit and decides upon at a formal meeting of full
members.
10. Membership termination is decided by majority
per vote (of those present) of the full members of the guild at
a formal meeting.
11. Negative critiques and flaming will not be
tolerated - regular, constructive, respectful critiques are non-negotiable.
